The National Junior A Hockey League (NJHL) has come to terms on a 3-year facility agreement with Lac La Biche County.
The addition of Lac La Biche into it’s North Division, with league play to start in the 2024-25 hockey season, represents a great opportunity to expand into a vibrant community with a longstanding support for hockey.
The expansion team will be playing out of the Bold Centre, which features multiple ice surfaces, food court, dedicated home team stalled dressing room, aquatic centre (soon-to-be under construction), gym and other amenities, along with an adjoining high school.
” We are so excited about locating a new team in Lac La Biche. The great community and the Bold Centre will no doubt aid in the recruiting process and offer an excellent environment for our elite, full-time athletes to develop as they follow their goal to play at the collegiate and professional levels.”
Other Alberta Teams in the league include Edson, High Prairie, Gibbons, Mayerthorpe, Fox Creek and Vulcan.
Residents will be invited to have a say on the teams name in an upcoming contest soon!
