A high-risk arrest in Red Deer led to police asking some Red Deerians to shelter in place on Saturday morning.
At 9 a.m., Red Deer RCMP advised the public that was a heavy police presence on Parke Avenue, near Phelan Crescent.
“Residents of the complex are asked to shelter in place while police attend and listen to police instructions thereafter. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area until further notice,” police said in a media release. “We ask that photos of responding officers not be placed on social media until after the incident is over.”
The order was lifted around 12:30 p.m.
RCMP said the situation had been “resolved,” but did not say if any arrests were made.
No other details were given.
