Firefighters were called to an early morning blaze at a building in the McCauley neighbourhood this morning
Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) said it received multiple calls regarding the fire, which started around 3:30 a.m. In total, six fire crews were at the scene within just 3 minutes .
Smoke plumes could be seen coming from the back of the building which plays home to a cafe along with a greenhouse structure.
EFRS said the fire was under control at 4:53 a.m., however, crews remained at the scene putting out hot spots.
It’s believed a vehicle fire in the back alley spread to the building according to an EFRS media release.
Fortunately, no one was inside at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
Fire investigators are still determining the extent of damage to the building and no cause of the fire at this time.
