Alberta RCMP handed out more than 2,500 tickets over the holidays

Alberta RCMP conducted their yearly holiday checkstops to ensure everyone was safe during the holidays.

According to the RCMP, between December 24th and January 1st, a total of 2,459 traffic tickets were written up across Alberta. These tickets were in addition to the 189 impaired drivers.

More than 1,000 drivers were ticketed for speeding, 15 of which were considered “excessive speeding”. More than 1,300 drivers saw violations for careless driving and other similar infractions.
