The Arts on the Ave Deep Freeze Byzantine Winter Festival is gearing up to host the first Festival of the new year with vibrant showcase of cultures with artistic creations and musical celebrations on 90-95 St and 118 Ave from January 20-21.
Windspeaker Radio Network spoke with Christy Morin, artistic director and general manager of Deep Freeze Byzantine Winter Festival talks about their choice of this years theme ‘Under the Toadstool’
Morin talks about the connections with the Cree, Inuit and Metis cultures that have been involved with the festival over the years.
Morin talks about an Inuit ice sculptor that has been involved with creating displays for the festival for 9 years, along with a showcase that the Bent Arrow Healing Society is providing entertainment for the Deep Freeze Festival.
