The Edmonton Police Service arrested the same female twice in a matter of hours in separate stolen vehicle investigations.
On Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, at approximately 3:45 p.m., Northeast Branch patrol officers were dispatched to the area of 27 Street and 118 Avenue to assist EMS with a female at the location.
Upon arrival it was determined that the female that EMS was requesting assistance with was in possession of a stolen vehicle. She was then arrested and lodged for the purpose of appearing before a Justice of the Peace to speak to the charge.
The suspect then appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was released without any conditions.
Shortly after, on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, at approximately 3:40 a.m. less than 12 hours later, Northwest Branch patrol officers were dispatched to a parking lot in the area of 169 Avenue and 127 Street on the report of a freshly stolen vehicle.
Upon arrival officers observed the stolen Lexus IS250 driving recklessly in the parking lot; they were able to eventually stop the vehicle and the female suspect was taken into custody. It was determined by officers that this same suspect was arrested hours earlier in another stolen vehicle.
The suspect was lodged once again for the purpose of appearing before a Justice of the Peace; this time she was remanded into custody.
Raven Anne Patterson, 26, is now facing multiple charges including possession of stolen property over $5,000 for the first stolen vehicle incident, theft of motor vehicle, flight from police officer and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle for the second stolen vehicle.
She is expected to appear before the courts on Dec. 19, 2023.
