Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement hosted their first-ever Metis Week Festival inside the Recreation Centre that will see many events that will run till November 17.

Many of the events will include workshops, a Metis Relay Race, a Metis Market and a talent show, along with a Métis Feast and Jamboree.

CFWE spoke with Debbie Ladouceur, organizer for the Métis Week Festival in Buffalo Lake Métis Settlement, as she say it feels awesome to see the turnout for their first event within the community, and what many can expect throughout the week long festival.

Ladouceur says she hopes that many, including the youth will walk away with holding onto the traditions taught to them after attending the week long festival.
