Edmonton Oilers bring back familiar face in Sam Gagner

The Edmonton Oilers have added veteran forward Sam Gagner on a one year contract valued at $775,000.

Gagner scored 8 goals and 6 assists over 48 games with the Winnipeg Jets last season before undergoing surgery in March.

The Oilers selected Gagner 7th overall in 2007 and currently has 5 points in 3 games with the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors this season. This will be Gagner’s third stint in Edmonton. A veteran of 1,015 career NHL games, he has scored 192 goals and 519 points over his NHL career playing with 8 different teams along that stretch.
