Police have charged two men in relation to the Edmonton Amber Alert last week.
Edmontonians Dakota James Hughes, 25, and Jacob Lloyd Chambers, 23, were arrested separately downtown over the weekend and charged with kidnapping and theft of a vehicle.
The alert was issued at 8:27pm on Thursday, October 19th after a 40 year old non-verbal woman was taken in a minivan near 118 Ave and 91 Street an hour prior.
Police say the woman’s caregiver left the woman inside the van while they briefly went into a store, two suspects then stole the vehicle and fled northeast.
30 minutes after the Amber Alert was issued, the woman was found unharmed in Fort Saskatchewan. Police were searching for two male suspects in connection with the alert.
Hughes is scheduled to appear in court on October 27th while Chambers will appear for November 3rd
