The Back Story |
MESH – Musicians Empowering Students of HomelessnessThis project started when we noticed a need in the high school community. Some students were living in bus shelters during the winter, trying their best to finish high school and pursue a better future.
The Back Story: Back in February 2018, my daughter requested to invite a friend over for dinner when she was still in high school. I readily agreed without any hesitation. Later that evening, after my daughter’s friend left, I found out that she planned to spend the night at a bus shelter since the shopping mall was closing. She had no other place to go until school the next day. when I found out my heart broke and I wept that my daugther’s friend was a homeless high school student. Stirring up my emotions as I remember being homeless as a high school student as well. It was then the idea came to light and today we are supporting those homeless students through the power of music. |
