Edmonton Police investigating suspicious death outside downtown shelter

The Edmonton Police Service is investigating what it believes to be the suspicious death of a man outside of a Downtown Edmonton homeless shelter early Sunday evening.

Around 5:25 p.m, EPS officers responded to a call of an injured man outside of the Hope Mission’s Herb Jamieson Centre near 105A Avenue and 100 Street.

Paramedics took a 39-year-old man to hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

EPS says its homicide section has taken over the investigation.
