Residents of Fort Saskatchewan gathered yesterday at the Fort Heritage Precinct to say farewell to the beloved flock of sheep that keep their community parks clean and trimmed.
The sheep of Fort Sask have been keeping smiles on visitor faces and keeping the grass trim in City parks for 30 years. The herd of 50 friendly and wooly sheep graze during the Summer months from June 3 to September 4. The City uses the flock as an eco-friendly way of maintaining their parks.

The community gathered in the park for a final send off as the flock was herded in a procession through downtown Fort Saskatchewan where onlookers cheered. The Sheep Herd is set to return in June of 2024.
