The Town of Vermilion has been chosen by the Oilers as the next community to be celebrated.
The community, with just under 4,000 people will be recognized for the teams second annual Celebrating Oil Country Initiative.
Each year, the team chooses a community in the province to celebrate and commemorate the “most dedicated and passionate fan bases in the world”.
The program includes a visit from an Oilers delegation, funding for the local minor hockey team, live broadcasts and other feature content.
All the fun will kick off in Vermilion on November 1st including a visit from local players and Hunter the Lynx.
On November 4th, Vermilion will be honored in Edmonton when the Oilers take on the Nashville Predators, with the fans and community featured throughout the game.
