Since 1984, the ice cream franchise Dairy Queen has been helping support Children’s hospitals through out North America with its annual Miracle Treat Day.
On August 10 for the past 39-years, one dollar of every Dairy Queen’s signature dessert “The Blizzard” goes to a local children’s hospital to help make a difference while supporting children and their families going through difficult times.
In Alberta, Dairy Queen has partnered with Stollery Children’s Hospital in the City of Edmonton & Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation in the City of Calgary.
Jodaye from the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation shared with Windspeaker Media about how the Miracle Treat Day has supported the hospital.
The funds raised by the treat day, go towards critical research to help children with various conditions receive the level of care needed.
Jodaye shared how the Alberta Children’s Hospitals in Alberta are especially important as they service children from Yukon and Northwest Territories.
Miracle Treat Day has raised over $48-million dollars across Canada. This year many of the Hospitals are hoping to break the $10-million-dollar mark.
Find a participating Dairy Queen near you by visiting their website and if you miss the day you can still donate to the Children’s Miracle Network which supports the local children’s hospitals through their website.
