Two years after it’s launch, the Community Outreach Transit Team (COTT) has announced the expansion to seven teams within the city of Edmonton.
Lloyd Yellowbird, Senior Manager at the Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society spoke with Windspeaker Radio Network about how the expansion will aid in the efforts towards the homeless population in Edmonton’s transit area’s.

Yellowbird speaks on what makes COTT unique, as members approach the homeless community with kind words, which helps with both the team members and those in need that are affected.

Yellowbird says that the expansion came to fast, to quick to form the seven teams. However, with the additional five teams added, it’s helped with COTT members from being burnt out in their efforts to aid in the community.

Yellowbird adds that the current system has failed those in need that are on the streets within the city, and adds that with the expansion, COTT members will be able to combat that with their approach to help those in need in Edmonton.
