K-Days 2023 hosted the Alberta Strongman Competition, where many who attended witnessed the first Indigenous woman competing with a pro card.
Alberta Strongwoman competitor Angie Houle from Whitefish Lake First Nation spoke with Windspeaker Radio Network about her journey that she took to get to the competition, and to be the first Indigenous woman in Canada to receive her pro card at the age of forty.

Houle says that discovering the Strongman competition helped with mental health, and competing came naturally from having previous experience in competing in sports when she was younger.

Houle hopes by accomplishing this feat, it will make her community of Whitefish Lake First Nation proud, along with inspiring youth that there is more to purse in the world of sports.
