The disappearance of a 41-year-old male reported missing to police in May is now being investigated by the EPS Homicide Section.
EPS investigators believe foul play may be involved in the disappearance of 41 year old Barry Bedard who was last seen on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, in the area of 118 Avenue and 50 Street.
Bedard was reported missing to police on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
Bedard is described as an Indigenous male, 6’2” tall, 202 lbs, with brown eyes and short brown hair. He also has several tattoos on his body, including a 118 Alpha tattoo on his neck. Bedard’s disappearance is considered out of character, and thus police and his family are concerned for his wellbeing.
Investigators are urging anyone who has any information about Bedard’s whereabouts to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
“What may appear as a minor detail to a member of the pubic or one of Mr. Bedard’s friends, might actually help progress or even resolve an investigation for police,” emphasized Staff Sgt. Colin Leathem, of the EPS Homicide Section.
“We certainly understand that contacting police can, at times, create anxiety for someone that may have information pertaining to a criminal matter. If that is the case, I would encourage anyone with information on Mr. Bedard’s disappearance to reach out to Crime Stoppers. Information can be submitted anonymously without sharing one’s identity,” explained Staff Sgt. Leathem.
Anonymous information can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.
