Animal control peace officers from the City of Edmonton worked alongside the Edmonton POlice today in removing numerous animals from a South Edmonton home.
On July 10, Monday Morning, multiple police vehicles arrived in Mount Pleasant, near 106 Street and 61 Avenue, to find nine dogs and two cats in “ concerning conditions”, according to officers.
Among the animals Boston terriers could be seen, along with multiple beagles, one which appeared to be pregnant.
In front of the home, a large amount of garbage piled and a pet kennel sitting atop of the garbage heap which also occupied the driveway.
When entering the property, officers could be seen adorning gas masks.
A distraught female , who was the apparent owner of the animals, could be heard yelling at police, saying she had “ all the things they need”at her other rural property and was upset that officers wouldn’t visit said rural property.
Edmonton police and Animal Control are working together on the investigation.
