The Edmonton Police Service has arrested and charged two males, a youth and an adult, in connection to a pair of separate sexual assault incidents that took place at the West Edmonton Mall (WEM) World Waterpark over the weekend.
West Branch patrol officers responded to the waterpark at approximately 4:50 p.m., Sunday, July 2, 2023, after being contacted by WEM security regarding a groping incident involving a young teen male and several female swimmers. It was reported to police that the teen male groped three young teen females while in the wave pool. The teen male was arrested and charged with sexual assault (x3). The youth cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
While investigating the first incident, West Branch patrol officers were alerted by WEM security of a second unrelated incident that also occurred Sunday afternoon involving an adult male.
It was reported to police that a male had groped a different young teen female in the wave pool. The male suspect was identified standing nearby and taken into custody.
25 year old Harminder Singh has been charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.
WEM security is collaborating with EPS on these investigations.
