The Town of Ponoka wants to hear from its youth on the design of a future expanded skate park.
According to the Town, the current conceptual design for an expanded skate park could see the existing Hamilton Skate Park extended south to include the space currently occupied by the former Town of Ponoka recycling yard. The sidewalk in front of the Hamilton Skate Park would also be extended south to connect with the pedestrian bridge which crosses over the Battle River and connects with the river valley trail system.
There are multiple ways to provide ideas, during the second phase of consultations.
First, a youth engagement session is happening July 5 at Hamilton’s Skate Park (4515 50 St.), weather-permitting. Attendees can also enjoy a free freezie and a chance to win some swag.
The session runs from 1-3 p.m.
