Beaver Lake Fire Department announced a milestone for it’s community and the fire department after sitting down with Kikino Métis Settlement council to sign a Mutual Aid Fire Agreement, a first of it’s kind to take place between a First Nation and Métis Settlement have had an agreement in partnership to support each other in times of emergency.
Windspeaker Radio Network spoke with Shane Bair, Beaver Lake Fire Department Fire Chief as he says that they felt the need to work together to support each other in times of need.

Bair says that he would love to see this mutual agreement grow with others from Buffalo Lake, Heart Lake, Whitefish Lake and Goodfish Lake to work together as First Nations people where everyone is benefited with equipment and teachings.

Bair goes on to say that he would love to see other First Nations Fire Departments to be up to city standards, along with doing training nights together to help one another to meet those standards.
