The alleged suspect involved in the deaths of a mother and child outside a south east Edmonton school, has now died according to Edmonton Police .
Their manner of death was deemed homicide after autopsies were completed on Monday and Tuesday. The Mother and child died from “sharp for4ce injuries: according to the reports.
Last Friday , just before 5 p.m. Edmonton Police responded to a report of a man who was attacking a 35-year old woman and her 11-year-old child, just outside of Crawford Plains School in South East Edmonton. Upon arrival, they found the woman dead and the child injured.
According to an update from Edmonton City Police, the man , who had been on life support, has now died.
The attack is believed to have been random according to Police Chief Dale Mcfee. Edmonton Police also confirmed that the suspect was known to police and had been arrested on numerous occasions for various charges.
Police are not releasing the names of the victimes in order to protect the identity of other children related to them.
The police shooting is currently being investigated by the ALberta Serious Incident Response Team.
