Due to dry conditions and increasing spring winds a Fire Advisory is now in effect for all of Clearwater County, including the Rocky Mountain House Forest Area.
County officials say if you are within the Forest Protection Area (FPA) and planning to light a brush pile, be sure to complete a burn notification. Click here.
The following applies to those within the Rocky Mountain House Forest Protection Area (FPA):
Under this advisory:
- All existing and new fire permits are being reviewed on a case-by-case basis for any additional burning activity restriction.
- Some burning exceptions may take place with forest officer approval.
Alberta Wildfire is asking campers and residents to never leave a campfire unattended. Soak it, stir it and soak it again until cool to the touch to ensure it is extinguished. If you see a wildfire, report it immediately by calling 310-FIRE (3473).
The fire advisory will remain in effect until conditions improve.
A map of the FPA boundary within Clearwater County is attached, more detailed maps are available online here.
