Harsh Jindal, 26, of Edmonton is wanted on 17 warrants in relation to a 2021 shooting photo: Edmonton City Police
The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has issued multiple warrants for the arrest of a 26-year-old man who investigators believe was the get-away driver involved in an October 2021 targeted shooting at a south Edmonton restaurant.
On Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, at approximately 8:20 p.m., an adult male complainant was having dinner with his family at a restaurant in a south Edmonton commercial complex near 17 Avenue and 99 Street. It was reported to police that an unidentified male approached the restaurant from the exterior of the building. He then walked up to a window directly in front of where the family were sitting and fired multiple gunshots through the glass at them.
The male complainant sustained several gun-shot wounds and was taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. Other family members, including children, staff and restaurant patrons were fortunate to escape injury. The male suspect fled the immediate scene on foot that evening, before getting into an SUV driven by a second suspect, since identified as Harsh Jindal, 26, of Edmonton.
A total of 17 warrants have been issued for Jindal’s arrest, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, discharging a prohibited/restricted firearm with intent to endanger life and intentionally discharging a firearm into a place knowing, or being reckless as to whether, that place is occupied.
Investigators believe Jindal, who is known to frequent both Edmonton and Grande Prairie, is armed and dangerous, and should not be approached. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.
