A man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the stabbing death of a woman in the Edmonton City Centre Parkade in 2020.
36 year old Elliot Tyler McLeod was initially charged with second degree murder in the death of 33 year old Sheri Lynn Gauthier.
According to the agreed statement of facts, McLeod had been on a methamphetamine binge for four days leading up to Gauthier’s death and has very little memory of the events.
During an interview with police, McLeod confirmed security cam footage from the mall were him and did not know Gauthier at the time of the attack.
Sentencing is expected to take place on May 26.
