From February 24 – March 19th, the Métis Nation of Alberta held its annual Frosty Reels Family Camp, a chance for Métis Albertans to learn about old Métis survival tactics on historic ground on Pigeon Lake.
Amber Yarmuch, the Senior Manager of Children and Family Services with the Métis Nation of Alberta, spoke with CFWE Radio about the camp and what it offered for the Métis families who attended over the four weekends of operation.

During its time running, Yarmuch says the camp was a huge success with lots of Métis families coming out to enjoy the nice, frosty weather at Frosty Reels.

Yarmuch said the goal of these camps was to center around the pride of being Métis, the history behind it all, and being proud to show it.
