The City of Edmonton and Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society have joined up and created the Community Outreach Transit Team (COTT), a program to help vulnerable Edmontonians using transit facilities as shelters get the resources they need.
Vernon Boldick, Communication Supervisor at Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society, spoke with CFWE Radio about the program and what it offers.
The COTT has been running since 2021, and Nicole Nunes, a Social Planner with the City of Edmonton, also spoke with CFWE Radio about the team and explained how it got off of the ground.
After running for a few years, both Boldick and Nunes says it’s been a success for both parties, and the COTT has plans to expand their teams to continue to do work for those who need help.
More information on the COTT can be found on Bent Arrow’s website, as well as the City of Edmonton’s website.
