
On Monday, March 27th, there will be a procession, followed by a regimental funeral for Constable Travis Jordan and Constable Brett Ryan, the two EPS officers slain on-duty on March 16th.
The procession will start at the Alberta Legislature at 11:45am Monday morning, ending at Rogers Place where the funeral is expected to start at 1:00pm.
Parking restrictions will begin on Sunday, March 26th at noon at these places:
- Edmonton Police Services Headquarters – Downtown Division at 9620 103a Ave
- Along the procession route
- 109 Street from 97 Avenue to 104 Avenue
- 99 Avenue from 106 Street to 109 Street
- CN Tower on 104 Avenue from 99 Street to 100 Street
- 103 Street from 105 Avenue to 106 Avenue
- 105 Avenue at 102 Street
- 102 Street north of 105 Avenue
Road closures along the procession route will begin at 8:30am on Monday with some intersections allowing traffic to cross the procession route. A full road closure will begin for the entire route at 10:45am with no cross traffic at intersections permitted.
Transit routes will also be affected by the procession. Transit detours and bus stop closures can be found here.
Access to Rogers Place for the funeral is by invitation only. It is limited to family, special guests, EPS members and other members of law enforcement, emergency services and military communities.
Public viewing areas will be available at Ice District Plaza and Sir Winston Churchill Square. Mental health support will be available at the two viewing areas, as well as along the procession route.
