Deceased woman found on path by Prospect Point Park in Fort McMurray

RCMP in Fort McMurray are asking people for information after a woman’s body was found near a storm pond in Timberlea.

According to Wood Buffalo RCMP, people out for a walk near the Prospect Point storm pond found the body at approximately 2:30 p.m. on March 19. Emergency responders arrived and declared the woman deceased upon arrival. The woman is believed to be in her 30s.

An autopsy is being carried out by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton, and police are still investigating the circumstances around the death.
