Valleyview RCMP say a 59-year-old woman from Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation was killed in a Sunday evening shooting.
Around 8 p.m., officers responded to a residence for reports of a shooting where the seriously injured Patricia Campiou was found. She later died at the scene.
Alberta RCMP’s major crimes division has taken over the investigation, with officers believing it to be an isolated incident.
37 year old Vincent Nathan Campiou has been charged with second-degree murder.
