Alberta’s police watchdog is now investigating an officer shooting in Fort McMurray on Wednesday.
According to crews, the man had gone to a home in the Beaconwood Place area around 4pm and shot a woman inside.
After running to his vehicle the man fired off more rounds, when police arrived on scene an officer shot and killed the man.
The woman was taken to hospital and has since been released, no officers were hurt during the incident.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is now investigating the shooting.
