16 year old from Stony Plain dead after crash on Highway 16

A 16-year-old boy is dead after a crash west of Edmonton Saturday afternoon.

At around 1:20 p.m., Parkland County RCMP were called to a collision between a Toyota 4Runner and Volkswagen Passat in the westbound lanes of Hwy. 16 near Range Rd. 20, approximately 10 km west of Stony Plain.

The driver of the Passat, a 16-year-old boy, was killed, while the driver of the 4Runner sustained minor injuries.

In a release Saturday, Mounties said they are still investigating the cause of the collision.
