The Edmonton Oil Kings announced one of the most popular promotional games is less than 3 months away.
The WHL team announced the popular event which collects stuffed animals for Santa’s Anonymous will be Friday, December 1st at Rogers Place.
In a media release, the Oil Kings said they expect the highest total of stuffed animals yet, exceeding 150,000. So far, the charitable effort has raised 146,930. Last year, fans tossed 13,111 bears.
The organization also announced a special Thanksgiving Day matinee game on October 9th in support of the Edmonton Food Bank. Fans are encouraged to bring boxes of mac and cheese to shake as noise makers against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

- Home opener: Saturday, Sept. 23, 7 p.m. vs. Red Deer Rebels
- Thanksgiving Day: Monday, Oct. 9, 12 p.m. vs. Lethbridge Hurricanes
- United against cancer: Saturday, Oct. 28, 7 p.m. vs. Portland Winterhawks
- Teddy bear toss: Friday, Dec. 1, 7 p.m. vs. Everett Silvertips
