A 51 year old man accused of stealing a gun from a Rocky Mountain House Canadian Tire and pointing it at employees is now facing 14 charges after he was arrested with the help of a drone and police dog.
RCMP crews were called just after 9:30am on Monday after he broke into a gun cabinet and helped himself to a firearm and ammunition.
A shelter in place warning was issued for nearby residents and RCMP dispatched a drone to search the area. The man was later arrested in the woods.
He’s been charged with seven firearms offences, as well as theft of a firearm, two counts of assault with a weapon, mischief and three counts of violating a probation order.
He has been remanded into custody and was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
