Two people have been charged in connection with a pair of Fort Chipewyan shootings.
The first shooting was in the early morning hours of Aug. 13. Fort Chipewyan RCMP say a single gunshot was fired at a home and the shooter had left the scene before police arrived. One person had minor injuries.
Another shooting was reported at the same home on the evening of Aug. 21. Police say multiple bullets were fired at the home and a vehicle was lit on fire. Police released a photo of a person of interest who has since been located and interviewed by investigators.
A third shooting was reported on the evening of Aug. 25 involving two homes and multiple gunshots. A man was arrested without incident. A second suspect was arrested in Fort Chipewyan on Sept. 2 without incident.
Mitchell Marta, 37, of Grande Prairie and Gregory Douglas Paquette, 34, of Fort Chipewyan have been charged with multiple firearm charges and arson. They are scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Chipewyan on Sept. 7.
