Two men have been taken into police custody and two guns have been seized after Edmonton police issued a shelter in place warning in the city’s southeast Monday afternoon.
In a 4 p.m. news release Monday, Edmonton police warned residents in the area of 48 Street and 28 Avenue to shelter in place after a man was witnessed carrying a long gun in the area.
The EPS tactical section was called in to investigate and police issued a photo of a man carrying a long gun. He was described as being on a bicycle wearing a green hoodie, hat, sunglasses and carrying a duffle bag.
Shortly after 5 pm, EPS said two people had been taken into custody, including the suspect, and two guns had been seized.
No further information has been released.
