The Edmonton Elks will be hosting their second annual Indigenous Celebration game as they are taking on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Commonwealth Stadium on August 10.
During the half-time show, a special presentation will be seen as ‘Dancing Cree’ will be performing on Center field.
Cara Morin, founder and CEO of ‘Dancing Cree’ spoke with Windspeaker Radio Network about the groups thoughts on performing on the half-time show as she says it’s an honour to showcase the culture for the Elks.
Morin says she was happy to hear that the Edmonton Elks wanted ‘Dancing Cree’ to return, as they will be showcasing culture and new coordination’s within their performance during half-time.
Morin goes on to say that it’s a sense of proudness and resilience to showcase their uniqueness of Indigenous culture in front of the Elks Fans as they enter through the tunnel towards center field of Commonwealth Stadium.
