A recent traffic stop in Vegreville resulted in RCMP later executing a search warrant at a residence in Vegreville, and seizing 135 cartons of contraband cigarettes, along with firearms and ammunition.
On July 10, Vegreville RCMP made several observations during a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of the driver, and a search of the vehicle. The next day, RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the community.
“RCMP believe that the suspect was selling the contraband cigarettes in the area of Vegreville and other nearby jurisdictions,” according to information from police.
40 year old Blake Devon Jackson from Vegreville, has been charged with possession for the purpose to sell, transport for purpose to sell, and possession of a dangerous weapon.
Jackson was also charged with multiple breaches related to his previous court conditions. As a result of a Judicial Interim Release hearing, Jackson was released and was set to appear in court on July 17.
