The Lacombe Food Bank is asking residents to help stock its shelves this Halloween by participating in a community food drive scheduled for Saturday, October 31.
Donation bags will be distributed to households this week, allowing residents time to fill them with items for local families in need. Residents are encouraged to fill the bags and place them outside for pickup on October 31.
“We will have groups coming to pick them up between approximately 2 PM and 5 PM that day,” said Shannon McQuaig, a board member with the Lacombe Food Bank.
“We appreciate any contributions. Soups, macaroni, dry goods, crackers—anything you have in your pantry is welcome,” she noted.
Lunch items, particularly those suitable for school lunches and quick meals, are also encouraged. Please refrain from including any expired food items, as they will need to be discarded.
The drive is not limited to food donations; the food bank is also seeking essential household and personal care supplies to assist individuals and families facing financial difficulties.
