A volunteer shortage has forced organizers to cancel the 2027 Alberta Pond Hockey Championships.
According to the Association, the callout for volunteers has been low, and essential board roles have not been filled to help stage the popular outdoor tournament in the Peace Country.
Officials remain optimistic about a 2028 return, provided enough hockey enthusiasts step forward to help.
