St. Joe’s Catholic High School in Grande Prairie is closed for the day (September 28), as GPS are on site after officials at the school were advised of a threat to “occur later today.”
In an email sent by the school division’s Superintendent to the parents and guardians, it says that they have made the decision to close the school for the rest of the day in wake of the situation. Students have been sent home out of precaution and to ensure their safety. Students that are already at the school will remain inside the building under a Hold and Secure until arrangements can be made to get them home safely.
Busses are being redirected to the school to transger students back to their morning pick-up spots to go home. Students that drive themseles have been released to go home.
Parents are asked to contact the school directly when they go to pick up their children, so they can report to the office to be released.
