Red Deer residents can look forward to another season of free outdoor recreation as the popular “Meet Me at the Park” program kicks off its 2026 summer run.
Starting Monday July 6, and continuing through August 28, the drop-in initiative will bring a wide variety of games, sports, crafts, and nature activities to neighbourhood parks across the city.
The goal is to get people of all ages moving, creating, and connecting with one another in their local green spaces.
Participants can enjoy everything from classic sports like soccer, basketball, tennis, pickleball, badminton, and baseball to fun additions such as obstacle courses, yard games, arts and crafts, gardening, and nature exploration.
The program is completely free and requires no registration.
This year’s programming begins in the Eastview Estates neighbourhood at 120 Ellenwood Drive.
Activities run Monday to Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and on Fridays until 3:00 p.m.
The program will rotate through different parks throughout the summer, making it easy for residents to enjoy recreation right in their own communities. It is a way to bring neighbourhood parks to life by creating safe, inclusive spaces where people can gather, build friendships, and stay active together.
For the complete schedule of park locations and daily activities, residents are encouraged to visit the City of Red Deer’s website.
