The Edmonton Food Bank and volunteers are gearing up for a busy holiday season as high demand for food hampers are increasing ahead of the Christmas season.
Taminsan Benz Knight, spokesperson for the Edmonton Food Bank, tells CFWE she’s pleasantly surprised seeing volunteers filling the facility helping to assemble food hampers for those in need.

Benz-Knight says there is an uptick of demand with an average of 43,000 people a month requesting hampers throughout the year.

Benz-Knight emphasizes the need for donations in food and funds as the goal to reach 300,00 kilograms of food and 4.5 million dollars, or gifts of time to lend a hand.
