After a man’s body was discovered near Tower Road last year, police have charged a second person with murder.
Around 2:30p.m. on April 25, Wood Buffalo RCMP were told a witness had stumbled across the body of a man who Mounties discovered was Kurtis Atkinson of Fort McMurray.
40 year old Penny Laine Scott, was arrested earlier this month and has been charged with second-degree murder and interfering with a dead body. She appeared in the Fort McMurray Court of Justice and her next appearance is scheduled for September 8.
A second person, 34 year old Travis Austin Timmons, of Fort McMurray has also been arrested. Timmons is also charged with second-degree murder and interfering with a dead body. He is scheduled to go back to court September 27.
The pair remain in custody.
