The Grande Prairie Police Department announced their new Community Engagement Team.
Launched on May 1st of this year, through the Grande Prairie Enforcement Services, the CET was created to help with crimes impacting businesses and residential areas near downtown and surveying local parks.
Grande Prairie Police Chief Dwayne Lakusta says the new program will take another stride in maintaining public safety.
A group of police and peace officers will give the CET authorities under the Peace Officer Act of Alberta and the Criminal Code of Canada.
