Miss Indigenous Canada is the first of its kind pageant that focuses on leadership and self-development with young Indigenous women all from First Nations, Metis, and Inuit.
Over 700 contestants across Canada have signed up to compete in the competition.
Founder and Committee Head Aleria McKay of Grand River which is part of Six Nations in Ontario wanted to develop a program which shows the diversity of Indigenous peoples in Canada.
