On May 4th, the High Prairie Aboriginal Interagency Committee hosts the High Prairie Traditional Pow Wow inside the High Prairie Sports Palace.
CFWE spoke with High Prairie Traditional Pow Wow organizer Wendy Goulet as she says people can expect the traditional dances and activities and opportunities for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people to participate in, along with announcing their first-ever junior and senior princess contest.
Goulet says it warms the heart when she sees the community coming out to attend and to be a part of the Traditional Pow Wow event, along with speaking on the humble beginnings of the Pow Wow within High Prairie.
Goulet speaks on her excitement on the first-ever junior and senior girls competition, that will allow them to showcase who they are and the importance of the Pow Wow, and their knowledge of the culture and teachings they have learned within their community.
