West Edmonton Mall is partnering up with the Parkinson’s Association of Alberta to ‘Stand up to Parkinson’s’ disease on April 11.
The free Awareness event will include exercise activates and a pancake breakfast to bring awareness to the Parkinson’s Disease and the importance of mobility.
Lana Tordoff, executive director of Parkinson’s Association of Alberta says it’s very exciting to be hosting the event within West Edmonton Mall, and is inviting many to come out whether you have Parkinson’s Disease or not.
Tordoff says that Parkinson’s Disease is the fastest growing disease in the province of Alberta, with over 15,000 people suffering from the effects of Parkinson’s, and highlights the importance of practicing simple mobility exercises as people start to grow older in age.
Tordoff explains the importance of supporting those that suffer from the effects of Parkinson’s Disease and urges many to also maintain their own mobility to keep them more independent over time.
