RCMP will now investigate the oilfield fire in east-central Alberta earlier this week.
Shortly after 5:00pm on January 30th, Minburn County asked residents to stay indoors and close windows because of the toxic smoke coming from the crude oil fire.
The County of Minburn Fire Department, with the help of other fire crews from the area helped fight the blaze until it was extinguished around 9pm the same evening.
The cause of the fire is under investigation while Alberta Energy Regulator clears the site.
