The Metis Nation of Alberta will be hosting a free dental clinic in central Alberta from February 5th to the 9th. In addition to the clinic there will be public Community Gatherings and a Diner from the 7th to the 8th.
Red Deer will be the host community as the MNA will team up with Access for All Dentistry to help many MNA members save money and get the oral care they deserve.
The services offered will include:
- Dental exams (including x-rays)
- Oral cleanings
- Cavity fillings
- Simple extractions (non-wisdom teeth only)
The services will be available to Métis Citizens of all ages.
Bobbi Paul-Alook is the Secretary of Health and Seniors for the Metis Nation of Alberta and says this is a much needed service for MNA members.
Appointment spaces are limited and on a first come first serve basis. Priority will be given to individuals who are experiencing distressing symptoms and dental emergencies. The MNA encourages everyone to stop by in Red Deer, even if they don’t need any dental care. Paul-Alook says these free clinics also serve as a way to connect with Metis culture and heritage.
The free clinic doesn’t have a location set but anyone looking to attend can find details at the Metis Nation of Alberta website.
